Pushing Daisies

As many of you know I am not a big TV/Movie viewer.
I tend to like it as back ground noise and even then choose old movies.
Movies that I actually sit and watch tend to be Pixar (even pre-baby days), children's movies (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the the Beast), and old movies (Gene Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Marx Brothers...). Honestly, if it weren't for D I'd never watch a "modern" movie ever (and I wouldn't care one little bit).
I usually leave the TV on PBS when I am home.

Lately, my friend Jen, has got me thinking more and more about the effect that movies/TV shows have on us and on our personalitles.

About a year ago, I found this TV show on Netflix.
I think it reccommended it to me. I fell instantly in love.
I nearly cried when it was cancelled after 2 seasons.
ok ok, sheesh, I DID cry.

Pushing Daisies.

Before you go rolling your eyes at me and saying "she just likes it because of the vintage dresses and that it is set in a restaurant and the girl is really odd"....hear me out.

Yes, those are the reasons I like it BUT I also think the dialog and, most importantly, the supporting cast members characters are very incredibly well developed.

See her style?
Oh so very much "Kate-ish".
There may have been some drooling involved when watching the show.

So a brief synopsis is as follows and I suggest you you watch the mere 22 episodes of my favorite TV show of all time....

Ned (cute, awkward, tall, shy, and quirky) happens to have a gift that causes him to bring dead things back to life (be it fruit, mice, flowers, or humans. He has a pie shop. Here is the catch. If he touches them twice it dies again.

A private eye accidentally discovers Ned's gift and offers him a proposal: Ned will temporarily bring murder victims back to life, allowing Emerson to inquire about the circumstances of their demise, quickly solve the case and split the reward money with him.

Enter Chuck ( my girl crush and the owner of all the vintage I dream of). Equally cute, quirky, but not shy is murdered on a cruise ship and had lived next door to Ned as a child. He "wakes" her to solve the murder, falls in love, and can't touch her the second time. Everyone thinks she is dead so she takes a job at the Pie Hole baking pies.

Then the fun begins.

I shall tell you no more as then I'd ruin it for ya'll. It is rare for me to talk about movies and/or TV so let me put it this way...if ya like me you'll like this show.

At first glance, I honestly thought the top picture was a photo crop of you and D. Keep in mind that I'm reading this on my not-giant phone @ 4am. After reading, I had to go back and enlarge the image a lot to double check.
